Fortnite shows first Sora gameplay ahead of launch this week

Epic made the Kingdom Hearts crossover concrete on September 13. In a short teaser posted by Fortnite on X, Sora appears in Fortnite for the first time, walking a Destiny Islands style beach and picking up the Kingdom Key. The charm at the end of the chain is not the usual Mickey head. It is a Fortnite Loot Llama, a small touch that places the Keyblade clearly inside Fortnite.

The post says it plainly: "It is officially happening. Sora is coming to Fortnite this week." Epic has not set a tighter day, and has not listed pricing or the full set of cosmetics yet, but the window is September 14 to 20. The clip is the first time the Outfit has been shown in game, after the Chapter 7 Season 4 Override announcement in August confirmed the collaboration without showing the skin.

Fortnite News, which covered the same teaser minutes later, described the scene the same way: Sora on a beach with the Kingdom Key and Llama keychain, arriving this week as an Outfit. The outlet noted the crossover was first announced for Chapter 7 Season 4 alongside the Kingdom Key for Battle Royale later in the season, and that an early September build had suggested a short delay. This trailer moves the story from announcement to arrival.

For players, the useful detail is what not to expect yet. No V-Bucks price and no item shop bundle list have been posted, so wait for the daily shop update before planning purchases. Everything will cost V-Bucks, which are bought with real money. If the Outfit follows the usual Gaming Legends pattern, it will appear in the shop for a few days and rotate out, so keep an eye on the news tab once the week begins.

This is the second Kingdom Hearts beat inside Fortnite in a month. The first was the August 20 Override reveal that confirmed Sora alongside Pac-Man, Joker, Sonic and Tetris. This one shows what he looks like and when to look for him. The next likely beat is the shop listing itself, and then whatever Epic adds next from the same collab, including the Kingdom Key pickaxe that this teaser already shows.
