Fortnite confirms four Kingdom Hearts Outfits for September 17

Epic Games and Square Enix put a date on the bigger Kingdom Hearts takeover. On September 15, Fortnite posted a new trailer (X post Sep 15) and Siliconera flagged the detail that had been missing from the first Sora tease: the Item Shop will get four Outfits at once - Sora, Riku, Kairi and Roxas - in looks referencing their Kingdom Hearts II era (Siliconera notes second and third installments), arriving September 17, 2026 during the Tokyo Game Show weekend.

The clip runs about 40 seconds to Utada Hikaru's “Sanctuary” from Kingdom Hearts II. Sora, Kairi and Riku fight together against enemies dressed to look like Heartless under a heart-shaped moon, then Roxas drops in at the close. The Fortnite YouTube upload carries the same cut as the X post, with on-screen text that reads “in-game purchase required” and no V-Bucks price listed yet.

Siliconera flagged the September 17 start and the four-character lineup, noting the pricing and acquisition method were still undisclosed. Final Weapon's separate write-up the same day corroborated the KH2 outfit basis and the September 17 shop timing, and pointed to the trailer as the source for the expanded roster.

For players tracking the rollout, this is the third Fortnite beat in a month after the August 20 Chapter 7 Season 4 Override reveal and the September 13 Sora beach teaser. The September 13 post showed Sora alone on a Destiny Islands style beach with the Kingdom Key and Loot Llama charm and gave a loose “this week, September 14 to 20” window. The September 15 drop narrows that to a single day and quadruples the character count (one to four).

The same date also covers Festival. Harmonix's weekly Jam Tracks bulletin for Fortnite Festival, picked up by Netto's Game Room, lists two Kingdom Hearts tracks for September 17 - Yoko Shimomura's “Dearly Beloved” and “The Other Promise” - playable free from that day and available to keep for 500 V-Bucks each. Festival runs inside Fortnite on standard controllers, keyboards or instrument controllers.

What to do next is straightforward: watch the Item Shop on September 17 and check the Festival track list the same day. Epic has not posted a bundle breakdown, so wait for the shop update before planning V-Bucks. In Fortnite cosmetics typically require V-Bucks bought with real money, but Epic has not confirmed pricing for this drop — the trailer only notes “in-game purchase required.” If the Outfits follow the usual Gaming Legends pattern they will rotate in and out rather than stay up all season.
