Square Enix releases 25th-anniversary special video looking back at Sora, Donald and Goofy

Square Enix has posted a special video marking the series' 25th anniversary, looking back at Sora's adventures alongside Donald and Goofy across the three numbered entries. KH13 reports the video focuses on the Disney worlds and Sora's bonds with Donald and Goofy, while Noisy Pixel notes its title translates roughly to "Because We're Friends, We Were Able to Meet."

The video doubles as a launch-week push for Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], which releases natively for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026, per KH13. GoNintendo adds that the games can be bought individually or as part of the Collection, which bundles HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind, with pre-orders live now and a Kingdom Hearts III demo already available.

KH13 further notes that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX will also be natively available on Switch. With the Collection reaching stores October 8 as covered in the launch-date announcement, the anniversary video lands as a three-days-out reminder of the road Sora, Donald and Goofy travelled to get here.
